Joiner (Multi Skilled)

Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Carpenter to join a leading organisation within the social housing sector, carrying out responsive repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works across occupied and void properties throughout the East Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled carpenter looking for long-term work with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.The role will involve a combination of carpentry repairs, fire door works and general multi-trade maintenance duties within residential properties.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Carrying out a wide range of carpentry repairs and maintenance works.
\n
• Fire door maintenance, upgrades and remedial works.
\n
• Repairs and replacements to doors, frames, skirting, architraves and associated joinery.
\n
• Undertaking first and second fix carpentry.
\n
• Completing minor multi-trade works where required.
\n
• Working within occupied and void social housing properties.
\n
• Conducting pre-start risk assessments and adhering to health and safety procedures.
\n
• Using handheld technology to manage and complete work orders.
\n
• Delivering a high standard of customer service whilst maintaining quality workmanship at all times.
\n

Requirements

To be considered, you will ideally have:

\n
• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent.
\n
• Experience carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance.
\n
• Experience with fire door maintenance, upgrades and remedial works.
\n
• Strong knowledge of residential building maintenance.
\n
• Ability to complete a variety of carpentry tasks independently.
\n
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
\n

Desirable

\n
• NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery.
\n
• Social housing maintenance experience.
\n
• Asbestos Awareness Certificate.
\n
• Ability to read construction drawings.
\n
• Basic skills in plastering, tiling, brickwork repairs, plumbing maintenance and general multi-trade works.
\n
