Maintenance Engineer - Facilities, Site based in Witham.

Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 Inclusive of shift allowance + Great benefits package

Week 1 - 5:15am-14:00pm

\n

Week 2 - 14:00pm -22:30pm

We are looking for a reliable trades person who will help keep our client's site running smoothly avoiding any disruption to business. This role is site based, you will be in Witham - and will cover multiple buildings based next to each other. You will be the first point of call for staff to report maintenance issues, and will oversee the day to day operations of the site, including equipment inspections and preventive maintenance, routine repairs and equipment upgrades and to maintain maintenance logs and reports. You will be a DIY expert, someone who can fix, problem solve and who has a good attention to detail. Experience with plumbing, electricity, basic carpentry - all of it will come in use.

You do not need to have formal qualifications in electrical work, however this would be an advantage. Experience with maintaining air conditioning units also an advantage - but not essential! DIY skills and a can do attitude - ESSENTIAL!

Our client is open to receiving applications from those who are at the start of their career, those with extensive experience - or anything in between! You will need to show some previous experience or qualifications, either as a site maintenance engineer / maintenance technician / trades person, electrician, plumber, labourer, builder!

Please note, due to the shift times you must be a driver, or reside in Witham within walking distance to central Witham.

Key Responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer\n
    \n
  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of the site - Plumbing and electrical experience highly desirable
  • \n
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and building issues promptly
  • \n
  • Complete routine repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • \n
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they occur
  • \n
  • Maintain overall site cleanliness and safety standards
  • \n
  • Act as the designated first aider (full training provided)
  • \n
  • Respond quickly to any issues that may disrupt daily operations
  • \n
  • Support the wider team with maintenance-related queries and solutions
  • \n
Essential Requirements - Maintenance Engineer\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in a similar facilities or maintenance role OR demonstrable trade skills evidenced in your CV
  • \n
  • Plumbing and electrical experience highly desirable;
  • \n
  • Full UK driving licence (essential due to shift patterns)
  • \n
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and hands-on approach
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills
  • \n
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance issues
  • \n
  • Basic electrical knowledge (full electrician qualification not required)
  • \n
Desirable Requirements\n

  • Forklift licence (training can be provided if needed)
  • \n
  • Experience across multiple trades/industries
  • \n
  • First aid certification (though training will be provided)
  • \n

Please note; due to the hours / shift pattern; if you do not reside in central Witham; you will need to be a car driver as public transport does not serve the site based on the hours.
