Role Description

The Data Curriculum Writer is a part-time, hybrid role based in Derby, with flexibility for work from home. This role is responsible for designing, writing, and maintaining high-quality curriculum and learning materials for data-focused apprenticeship programs. Day-to-day tasks include developing structured learning pathways, creating engaging lesson content, assessments, and projects, and ensuring alignment with industry standards and employer needs. The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts, instructors, and employer partners to keep content current with emerging data trends and technologies. The Data Curriculum Writer will also review learner feedback and performance data to refine materials and improve learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, write, and review curriculum content for Data Level 3 and Level 4 apprenticeship programmes.
\n
• Ensure curriculum materials align with apprenticeship standards, assessment requirements, and awarding organisation expectations.
\n
• Develop learner resources, schemes of work, lesson plans, workshops, assignments, and supporting materials.
\n
• Embed current industry trends, wider learning, best practice, and employer requirements into curriculum content.
\n
• Work collaboratively with delivery teams to ensure content is engaging, relevant, and supports an excellent learner journey.
\n
• Review and update existing materials to maintain quality and compliance.
\n

Essential Requirements

\n
• Proven experience writing and developing apprenticeship curriculums.
\n
• Strong knowledge of Data apprenticeship standards at Level 3 and/or Level 4.
\n
• Experience working within the apprenticeship sector, including understanding of Ofsted and quality expectations.
\n
• Ability to design high-quality learning resources and assessment materials.
\n
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
\n
• Experience working with subject matter experts, trainers, and quality teams.
\n

Desirable Requirements

\n
• Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes.
\n
• Understanding of EPA requirements and apprenticeship compliance.
\n
• Knowledge of data-related subjects such as data analysis, data management, data visualisation, SQL, Power BI, Excel, or related areas.
\n

Hours

\n
• 1 day per week dedicated to curriculum writing, or
\n
• Up to 1.5 days per week combining curriculum writing and delivery
