Groundworker
Job Description
Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworker to join a leading organisation within the social housing sector, delivering repairs, maintenance and improvement works across occupied and void residential properties throughout the Midlands.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Groundworker looking for long-term work, with the successful candidate initially joining on a temporary basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful period. The position involves a wide range of groundwork, drainage, paving and maintenance-related duties.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Carrying out groundwork repairs and maintenance works within social housing properties \n
- Paving works including slabs and block paving \n
- Concreting of paths, patios, steps and hard standings \n
- Excavation and backfilling works in line with current regulations \n
- Repairs and replacement of clay and UPVC drainage systems \n
- Installation and repair of fencing, including concrete and timber posts, panels and close-board fencing \n
- Brickwork, pointing and associated external repairs \n
- Completing pre-start risk assessments and working in accordance with health and safety procedures \n
- Using handheld technology to update job information and complete required documentation \n
- Ensuring properties are left safe, secure and in good condition following completion of works \n
RequirementsTo be considered, you will ideally have (but not essential)
\n- \n
- NVQ Level 2 in Groundworks or a relevant construction trade qualification. \n
- Strong experience in paving, concreting, drainage and excavation works. \n
- Experience installing fencing and carrying out external maintenance repairs. \n
- Good understanding of site safety standards and excavation procedures. \n
- Ability to read and work from construction drawings. \n
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence. \n
Desirable:

- Asbestos Awareness Certificate \n
- Abrasive Wheels Training \n
- CAT & Genny qualification \n
- Plant operator licence (Mini Excavator and Dumper) \n
- Experience carrying out additional trade skills including brickwork, rendering or lintel replacement \n
- Previous social housing repairs and maintenance experience \n
