Are you an experienced Commercial Insurance Account Handler seeking greater variety, genuine career progression and the opportunity to develop within a supportive and established broking team?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established commercial insurance business based in Leatherhead. You will work alongside experienced brokers, servicing new and existing commercial clients, including major scheme-based clients within the removals and storage sector.

The role

\n

As Commercial Insurance Account Handler, you will manage the day-to-day servicing of a varied portfolio of commercial insurance clients, ensuring they receive a responsive, accurate and professional service.

\n

Your responsibilities will include:

\n
    \n
  • Managing commercial insurance renewals and mid-term adjustments
  • \n
  • Reviewing risk and claims information and obtaining any additional information required from clients
  • \n
  • Securing competitive quotations from insurers
  • \n
  • Presenting renewal terms promptly and following up with clients for instructions
  • \n
  • Supporting strong client retention and profitable account growth
  • \n
  • Processing policy adjustments through insurer extranets
  • \n
  • Ensuring insurance cover is placed within the required timescales
  • \n
  • Building effective, long-term relationships with clients
  • \n
  • Understanding clients’ requirements and recommending appropriate insurance solutions
  • \n
  • Working closely with underwriters to adapt policies and secure suitable cover
  • \n
  • Responding promptly and professionally to client enquiries
  • \n
  • Preparing invoices and resolving billing queries
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate client files, correspondence and policy documentation
  • \n
  • Working collaboratively with brokers and the wider team
  • \n

About you

\n

We would be interested in hearing from candidates who have:

\n
    \n
  • At least one to two years’ commercial insurance experience
  • \n
  • Experience within commercial vehicle, motor fleet, public liability or employers’ liability insurance
  • \n
  • A sound understanding of general insurance principles
  • \n
  • Commercial insurance experience rather than solely personal lines experience
  • \n
  • A confident and professional telephone manner
  • \n
  • The ability to communicate effectively with clients, insurers and colleagues
  • \n
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • \n
  • A flexible and team-focused approach
  • \n
  • Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, including English and maths
  • \n

Progress towards CII qualifications would be advantageous, although full support for further CII study is available.

\n
