Location: Gloucester
Duration: 12 months
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: GBP 25 – GBP 27 p/h
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Working Pattern: Full time on site, 5 days per week
Background Check: DBS check will be conducted when candidate is selected

Job Description

\n

• Undertake analysis of surface and treated water and other discharge samples to verify batch release and determine permit and consent compliance.
\n • Co-ordinate the Risk assessment systems and records (including General Risk, COSHH & Ergonomics) including the prompting of reviews and progressing (via line management) the completion of identified actions.
\n • Provide support and advice to employees and managers in relation to Health and Safety and Environmental issues on site, involving other members of the HS&E team to provide specialist guidance when necessary.
\n • Support through collection of data and reporting of figures to the regulator, the verification of COMAH and environmental permit compliance.
\n • Undertake assessment of noise, vibration and air quality across the site in association with other HS&E Team members.
\n • Implement and drive continuous improvement of HS&E management systems on site through generation of procedures and working practices that support continuous improvement of HS&E performance.
\n • Support the Environmental Advisor with aspect and impact assessments and the operation of the ISO 14001 management system as well as the Client's H&S management systems.
\n • Investigate accidents and spills on site, supporting departmental managers to undertake local investigations where appropriate and identify and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
\n • Undertake Audits of the HS&E management systems, identify improvements and progress actions through to completion.
\n • Provide reports and dashboards both to the HS&E Manager and to departments to support continuous monitoring and improvement processes.
\n • Provide HS&E input to site projects as and when required.
\n • Other reasonable duties as required by the department, as determined by HS&E Manager.

Candidate Skills & Requirements

\n

• Minimum of NEBOSH Certificate (or equiv).
\n • Minimum of IEMA foundation certificate in Environmental management (or equiv).
\n • They must be able to demonstrate a high degree of discretion and sensitivity whilst maintaining confidentiality.
\n • They must possess the interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to work effectively at all levels within the company.
\n • They will have experience of working in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of Health & Safety and/or Environmental regulation.
\n • Computer literate and with good administrative ability.
\n • SharePoint, TESSE, skills advantageous.

Additional Description

\n

• Support the HS&E Team deputising for others where necessary.
\n • Support the effluent treatment area through the analysis of samples.
\n • Act as an advisor and support for the wider workforce with regard to HS&E issues, demonstrating good practices through actions.
