Legal Assistant - Private ClientAbout Us We are an established and client-focused law firm committed to delivering high-quality legal services with a professional and personal approach. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Legal Assistant to join our Private Client team in Bakewell. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with at least 1-2 years' legal support experience to further develop their career within a supportive and professional environment.
\nThe Role You will provide administrative and legal support to fee earners across a broad range of Private Client matters, including:

- Wills \n
- Probate \n
- Trusts \n
- Powers of Attorney \n
- Estate Administration \n
This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who is highly organised, professional and confident working within a busy legal department.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Opening, maintaining and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures. \n
- Drafting routine correspondence and legal documentation. \n
- Assisting with wills, probate applications, lasting powers of attorney, trusts and estate administration under supervision. \n
- Managing client onboarding processes, including ID verification and AML compliance checks. \n
- Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions and other third parties. \n
- Supporting fee earners with diary management, workflow monitoring and key deadlines. \n
- Assisting with billing, file management and general administrative tasks. \n
- Ensuring compliance with GDPR, SRA requirements and internal procedures. \n
- Maintaining accurate records and updating case management systems. \n
About You You will have:

- Experience working as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or similar support role within a law firm. \n
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills. \n
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. \n
- The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively. \n
- A professional, reliable and confidential approach to client matters. \n
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and legal case management systems. \n
Desirable Experience
\n- \n
- Previous experience within a Private Client department. \n
- Knowledge of wills, probate, trusts and lasting powers of attorney. \n
- Experience drafting routine legal documents under supervision. \n
- Familiarity with LEAP case management software. \n
- Understanding of legal compliance and client onboarding procedures. \n
