What are we hiring for?

\n

We are seeking a Platerto join our team in Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater to ensure product is delivered in line with the documented procedures and standards.

\n

\n

What will you be doing?

\n

Within this position you will be responsible for:

\n
    \n
  • Adhering to weld procedures, relevant quality procedures and assist with quality records and documentation
  • \n
  • Cutting, shaping and joining plate metal
  • \n
  • Maintaining equipment and small tools for assembly / welding / calibration
  • \n
  • Working from detailed engineering drawings
  • \n
  • Be suitably familiar with the contents of this Risk Assessment and Method Statements and Permit to Work
  • \n
  • Attending any HSE training, meetings, etc. as requested.
  • \n
  • Attending, participate in and periodically lead Toolbox Talks.
  • \n
  • Ensuring that tools, equipment and materials brought into and used in the area are fully checked and are compliant with HSE requirements.
  • \n
  • Ensuring that no work is carried out unless supported by the relevant specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Permits.
  • \n
  • Ensuring that all incidents and near misses are reported
  • \n

What are we looking for?

    \n
  • Be time served / apprentice trained
  • \n
  • Experience in fabrication of Stainless-steel equipment
  • \n
  • Read and understand detailed CAD drawings
  • \n
  • Used to working in a production and engineering environment
  • \n
  • Experience of supervising site activities and subcontractors
  • \n
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations
  • \n
  • Team working ability
  • \n
  • Works calmly under pressure
  • \n
  • Has a questioning attitude
  • \n
  • Challenges what is considered unacceptable behaviours
  • \n
\n

Training and development expectations:

\n
    \n
  • Level 3 Apprenticeship in Plating, Fabrication, Welding, Structural Steelwork or Shipbuilding
  • \n
  • Time served / apprenticeship trained
  • \n
  • CITB Operatives Test
  • \n
  • CCSNG & NVQ Level 3 ACE Card (Blue)
  • \n
  • City & Guilds Medium Confined Space Level 2 (desirable)
  • \n
  • NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision (desirable)
  • \n
