Materials Controller

FT Recruitment are supporting our client to recruit for an experienced Materials Controller to join their growing team. In this role you will be working in the stores department combining hands-on materials handling with stock control and ERP administration responsibilities. You will work closely with the production and workshop personnel and will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the stores, assisting employees with the materials and consumables they require, maintaining accurate stock records, and helping to ensure materials are available when needed.

Duties

• Receive, inspect and store incoming materials and deliveries
\n
• Issue materials, consumables and equipment to employees and production teams
\n
• Assist with loading, unloading and movement of stock within the stores and yard areas
\n
• Maintain accurate inventory records using the company's ERP system
\n
• Process goods received notes and stock transactions
\n
• Conduct stock checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
\n
• Monitor stock levels and highlight replenishment requirements
\n
• Support material traceability and certification control where required
\n
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and safety within the stores and yard
\n
• Work closely with Production, Purchasing and Operations to ensure materials are available when required
\n

Experience

\n
• Proven experience in warehouse management, materials handling, supply chain or logistics environments
\n
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems is highly desirable
\n
• Knowledge of steel products and materials and experience of material certification and traceability processes would be advantageous
\n
• Hands-on experience operating forklifts and performing heavy lifting safely in a warehouse setting
\n
• Strong communications skills and excellent attention to detail
\n
• Strong IT skills such as Microsoft packages
\n
• Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) license (desirable)
\n
• Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or fabrication environment (desirable)
