Electronics Engineer
Job Description
You'll own the electronics from schematic and PCB design through bring-up, testing, certification and manufacturing.
\nYou'll work across analogue, digital, power, wireless and safety-critical electronics, including gas-control circuitry, while working closely with software, engineering, suppliers and manufacturing.
\nWhat you'll own
\n- \n
- Schematics and multi-layer PCB layout in Altium \n
- Analogue and power design, including high-voltage circuits, protection and drivers \n
- Safety-critical gas ignition and flame-sensing circuitry \n
- High-speed interfaces including Ethernet, HDMI, LVDS, USB and SDIO \n
- Bluetooth/Wi-Fi integration and antenna layout \n
- SoM and MCU selection \n
- Thermal, EMC, grounding and signal-integrity design \n
- DFM/DFT, production test fixtures and automation \n
- BOMs, wiring diagrams and cable harnesses \n
- Prototyping, soldering, rework, board bring-up and debugging \n
- Supplier relationships and certification evidence \n
Who we're looking for
\nYou'll ideally have 5+ years' experience taking electronics from design through to certified, manufactured boards.
\nYou'll bring:
\n- \n
- Strong schematic and multi-layer PCB design experience, ideally Altium \n
- Strong analogue and power electronics skills \n
- High-voltage and safety-critical circuit experience \n
- High-speed digital design and signal-integrity knowledge \n
- DFM/DFT and production test experience \n
- BOM, wiring and harness experience \n
- Hands-on prototyping, soldering, rework and board bring-up \n
- Strong fault-finding and root-cause debugging skills \n
A 2:1 or above degree in electronics, electrical engineering or a related discipline is preferred, although exceptional candidates without this background will be considered.
\nWhat you'll know
\nIdeally, you'll also have experience with:
\n- \n
- Bluetooth/Wi-Fi antenna integration and radio compliance \n
- SoM/MCU selection \n
- EMC and grounding \n
- Thermal management \n
- Safe high-voltage/mains working \n
- Electronics certification and compliance \n
- Production test and manufacturing requirements \n
The person behind the experience
\nWe're looking for someone who wants to join early and help build something.
\nYou'll be comfortable in a fast-moving environment where processes are still being developed. You'll take ownership, solve problems from first principles, get hands-on with hardware and care about getting things right.
\nYou won't wait for someone else to solve a problem. You'll find the root cause, make a decision and get it done.
