Architectural Designer / Urban Designer
\nLocation: Dorset
\nSalary: £28,000/£35,000
\nPenguin is proud to be working with a specialist independent masterplanning and urban design consultancy on an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Designer / Urban Designer to join their growing team.
\nThe practice specialises in masterplanning, urban design, architecture, strategic planning and landscape architecture, working on a diverse range of projects from high-density urban regeneration and town centre schemes through to residential developments and large-scale mixed-use communities.
\nThe Role
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and commercially minded designer to work across projects from the initial concept and feasibility stages through to planning and detailed implementation.
\nYou'll have the opportunity to:
\n- \n
- Develop innovative masterplans, architectural layouts and urban design proposals. \n
- Work on residential, mixed-use, regeneration and community-led developments. \n
- Produce high-quality design concepts, site layouts and presentation material. \n
- Contribute to masterplanning and urban design strategies. \n
- Work collaboratively with clients, planners, architects, landscape architects and other consultants. \n
- Develop design solutions that balance design quality, planning requirements and commercial viability. \n
- Contribute to projects from early-stage visioning through to planning and implementation. \n
About You
\nThe ideal candidate will have:
\n- \n
- A degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Planning or a related discipline. \n
- Previous experience within an architectural, urban design or masterplanning practice. \n
- Strong design and visualisation skills with an excellent eye for detail. \n
- Experience producing masterplans, site layouts and architectural/design drawings. \n
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and/or other relevant design software. \n
- An understanding of the UK planning and development process. \n
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. \n
- A creative, proactive and collaborative approach to design. \n
- The ambition to develop their career within a specialist masterplanning practice. \n
