Roofer

Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Roofer to join a leading organisation within the social housing sector, carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties throughout the East Midlands. Duties include roof repairs, tile replacement, soffit and fascia work, Velux window repairs and associated maintenance activities.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position, with the successful candidate initially joining on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful period.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Carrying out a variety of roofing repairs and maintenance works
\n
• Tile, slate, soffit and fascia repairs and replacements
\n
• Velux window repairs and installations
\n
• Undertaking pre-start risk assessments and safe systems of work
\n
• Making properties safe, secure and weather-tight following repairs
\n
• Completing works within agreed timescales and quality standards
\n
• Updating job information using handheld technology and completing relevant paperwork
\n
• Working closely with residents, colleagues and supervisors to deliver a high-quality service
\n

Requirements To be considered, you will ideally have (but not essential)

\n
• NVQ Level 2 in Roofing or equivalent
\n
• Asbestos Awareness Certificate
\n
• Experience carrying out roofing repairs within social housing, maintenance or a similar environment
\n
• Knowledge of working at height regulations and safe working practices
\n
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence
\n

Desirable:

\n
• PASMA qualification
\n
• Abrasive Wheels training
\n
• Multi-trade maintenance experience
\n
