Quest Employment is currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop / Production Manager to join a well-established woodworking and manufacturing business based in Northampton.
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced production or workshop professional looking for a straight-to-permanent position, where you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the workshop, production planning and the management of a skilled team.
\nYou will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, deadlines are achieved and high standards of quality, organisation and Health & Safety are maintained.
The Role\nAs Workshop / Production Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the workshop and production operation.
\nYour duties will include:

- Managing the day-to-day running of the workshop and production schedule \n
- Planning and prioritising workloads to ensure production deadlines are met \n
- Acting as the key link between the office-based team and workshop \n
- Supervising, training and developing workshop staff \n
- Monitoring production progress and ensuring jobs are completed on time \n
- Managing stock levels and supporting materials control \n
- Ensuring the workshop is organised, efficient and maintained to a high standard \n
- Ensuring all Health & Safety procedures are followed \n
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement \n
- Liaising with senior management regarding production performance and operational issues \n
- Taking a hands-on approach to resolving day-to-day production challenges \n
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Workshop Manager, Production Manager or similar leadership role within the woodworking industry.
\nYou will ideally have:

- Previous workshop or production management experience within woodworking \n
- Strong leadership and people-management skills \n
- Experience of training and developing staff \n
- Good knowledge of production planning and stock control \n
- Strong organisational and communication skills \n
- The ability to manage workloads and meet tight deadlines \n
- A hands-on and proactive approach to problem-solving \n
- A full UK driving licence \n
- Forklift licence would be desirable \n

- Salary up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience \n
- Straight-to-permanent position \n
- Monday to Friday working pattern \n
