No.1 Site Manager Location: Guildford, Surrey Contract: 8 Months Project Value: £15m Sector: Commercial Office / Life Sciences Fit-Out Start Date: ASAP Rate: £275 - £300 per day The Opportunity We are currently looking for an experienced No.1 Site Manager to join an established project team delivering a £15m commercial office and life sciences fit-out project in Guildford. Reporting directly into the Site-Based Project Manager, you will take a leading role in the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required programme and quality standards. This is a hands-on site-based position. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable being actively involved in the day-to-day running of the project, working closely with subcontractors and the wider project team rather than operating purely from the site office. Key Responsibilities Take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of site activities. Work closely with the Project Manager to drive the project programme and ensure key milestones are achieved. Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades and site operatives. Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance. Coordinate works across multiple trades and disciplines within a live commercial fit-out environment. Monitor progress on site and identify potential delays or issues before they impact the programme. Carry out regular site inspections and ensure works are completed to the required standard. Assist with sequencing, logistics and short-term programming of works. Liaise with subcontractors, consultants and the wider project team. Ensure RAMS, permits and site procedures are being followed correctly. Provide regular progress updates to the Site-Based Project Manager. Take a proactive, hands-on approach to resolving site issues and keeping works moving.About You The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience working as a No.1 Site Manager on commercial fit-out projects. Strong experience within commercial offices, CAT A/CAT B fit-out or similar environments. Experience working on high-value projects, ideally £10m+. Experience within life sciences, laboratory, pharmaceutical, healthcare or technically complex environments would be highly advantageous. Strong subcontractor management and coordination experience. A practical, hands-on approach to site management. The confidence to take ownership of site activities and work closely with the Project Manager. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A strong understanding of health, safety, quality and programme requirements.Essential Requirements SMSTS CSCS First Aid at Work Strong commercial fit-out experience.
