Culina Group operates from over 100+ depots across the UK and Ireland, serving more than 1,000 clients over its framework of chilled, ambient, contract packaging solutions and fresh and baked goods.Company OverviewStobart (Part of the Culina Group) is a leading ambient transport and logistics business, providing services to many of the UKs best known brands across core consumer and retail sectors.At Culina we have a winning culture, we believe that our culture is one of the reasons our company continues to thrive A place where you're valued, challenged, and inspired!Job Description Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Transport Shift Manager to join our Transport team at our Wentworth site.As Transport Shift Manager you will work collaboratively to ensure effective running of a busy transport operation, ensuring that Operational KPIs are met and that the operations are conducted strictly in accordance with legal requirements, whilst helping to formulate and deliver the short, medium and long-term resource plans for your area.This is a full time, permanent position working:Monday - Friday night shift 6pm to 6am.Salary is up to £33,700Job responsibilities of Transport Shift Manager include:Work collaboratively with our Myworkforce team ensuring compliance of all MWF activity and tasks including resource planning and managing the safety and cost-effective utilisation of all drivers and equipmentResponsible for owning, monitor and controlling the driver de-briefing process to ensure that agreed standards of performance are consistently achieved by effective communication and management.To manage and support driver workforce all drivers whilst engaged on activity to ensure full legal compliance. Ensure records are correctly completed and maintained in accordance to the procedure.Conduct employee investigations, and grievance, when required.Manage all aspects of driver performance to achieve or surpass expectations and KPI's.Promote company Health & Safety and employment policies within the transport operation.Ensuring all personnel files are up to date incorporating licence validation, personal details, completed training.Responsible for site audits and works closely with the Transport Manager to ensure KPIs are metTo support the daily operational workflow on the customer site by providing answers to urgent queriesActively work with the customer and site management team to achieve performance addressing any concerns or questions within a timely mannerManage the recruitment of permanent and temporary staff as required to cover business peaks.Ensure that the Transport Manager & the H&S team are made aware of all accidents, dangerous occurrences & near misses and that the relevant reports are completed for all such incidents.Responsible for identifying and escalating any maintenance and repair issues on site and within depotEnsure that all daily vehicle check, vehicle inspection & defect reporting procedures are in placeQualifications To apply for the role of Transport Shift Manager , you will possess the following skills, experiences and qualifications:Proven track record in Transport & Logistics industryDemonstrable experience of successful resource managementExcellent organisation and communication skillsProven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI'sExcellent understanding of Health and Safety processesEnergetic and has a natural desire to generate and drive improvementsGood people engagement skills, self-driven, positive can-do attitude.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a customer facing environmentAdditional Information As part of our drive to make Stobarts a great place to work.
