About the Role\n

Veritas Education is working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Support Officer for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.

\n

This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents to promote positive behaviour, improve engagement, and support students in achieving their full potential.

\n

The role would suit candidates with experience in education, youth work, pastoral support, mentoring, social care, or behaviour management.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Provide targeted support to students displaying challenging behaviour
  • \n
  • Work on a one-to-one and small group basis to improve engagement and achievement
  • \n
  • Promote positive behaviour strategies in line with school policies
  • \n
  • Support students with their emotional, social, and behavioural development
  • \n
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
  • \n
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour interventions
  • \n
  • Assist in reducing barriers to learning and improving attendance
  • \n
  • Liaise with pastoral teams and external agencies where required
  • \n
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures at all times
  • \n

  • Experience working with young people in an education, youth work, mentoring, or support setting
  • \n
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • \n
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable in challenging situations

  • Passionate about supporting students to achieve positive outcomes
  • \n
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • \n
