Facilities & Shop Support Technician

Job Summary:

Provide facility, janitorial, and general shop support for QCMI by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper application, handling, and disposal.

• Flexible and willing to perform a variety of duties as assigned.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Handy with basic hand and power tools.
• Preferred forklift experience or ability to become forklift certified.
• Preferred landscaping or grounds maintenance experience.
• Ability to safely lift up to 45 pounds and push, pull, carry, and move materials throughout the facility with or without reasonable accommodation.
• May occasionally be required to work overtime or more than eight (8) hours per day.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Perform general janitorial duties throughout the facility, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, production areas, and common spaces.
• Clean machined parts as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Perform general facility upkeep and minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Assist with landscaping and exterior facility maintenance.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other authorized material handling equipment when trained and certified.
• Safely operate and maintain all company equipment for which authorization has been provided.
• Comply with all company safety policies, quality procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Work in partnership with the Operations Supervisor, Quality Department, and Engineering Department to ensure quality standards are met and maintained. If a quality concern is identified, immediately stop work and notify your supervisor and the Quality Department.
• Assist with organizing materials, moving inventory, and supporting production departments as needed.
• Provide training and assistance to coworkers when requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
