Certified Pipefitter Supervisor

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and certified Pipefitter Supervisor to oversee piping installation, maintenance, fabrication, and repair activities within industrial and mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising pipefitting crews, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining project schedules, and delivering high-quality workmanship in demanding industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of pipefitters, welders, and related trades personnel.
\n
• Plan, organize, and monitor piping installation, maintenance, shutdown, and construction projects.
\n
• Interpret and work from piping isometrics, P&IDs, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
\n
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project requirements, quality standards, and applicable codes.
\n
• Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, and job hazard assessments.
\n
• Monitor workforce productivity and ensure efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
\n
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, maintenance teams, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
\n
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
\n
• Identify and resolve technical and operational issues affecting project progress.
\n
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, manpower allocation, equipment usage, and project status.
\n
• Ensure strict adherence to company safety policies, environmental regulations, and mining industry standards.
\n
• Assist with workforce training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
\n
• Support commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities as required.
\n

Minimum Qualifications

\n
• Certified Pipefitter Trade Qualification (Journeyman Pipefitter or equivalent recognized certification).
\n
• Minimum of 7 years of pipefitting experience in industrial, mining, processing plants, oil & gas, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.
\n
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing pipefitting crews.
\n
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, valves, pumps, process equipment, and industrial maintenance practices.
\n
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and isometric drawings.
\n
• Proven experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, HDPE, PVC, and specialty piping systems.
\n
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations, permit systems, lockout/tagout procedures, and risk management practices.
\n
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Proficiency in project scheduling, planning, and workforce coordination.
\n
• Valid driver's license.
\n
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical examinations and site-specific safety requirements.
\n

• Confined Space Entry certification.
\n
• Working at Heights certification.
\n
• Rigging and lifting experience.
\n
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
