Job Summary

The role involves delivering direct nursing care in line with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance patient care quality and life by applying medical-surgical nursing standards and systematically evaluating nursing practices.
  • Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Formulate assessment and management strategies considering various dimensions of health and human responses.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the effects of illness on patients’ overall status.
  • Exhibit leadership by collaborating with patients, families, and the interprofessional team to assess needs and evaluate care outcomes.
  • Engage in effective communication to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care decisions.
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion and comfort measures.
  • Promote a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
  • Apply evidence-based practices to ensure age-specific and clinical needs are met.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety in all activities.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing as per established guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year as a registered nurse.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular verbal communication skills.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of vision for close and distant tasks.
  • Regular use of hearing for communication and monitoring equipment.
  • Occasional driving and physical movements such as bending and twisting.
Licensure and Certifications

Required certifications based on the state of work location:

  • Illinois: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association and Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
  • Missouri: BLS from the American Heart Association and RN license from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration or Compact State.
  • Oklahoma: BLS from the American Heart Association and RN license from the Compact State or Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
  • Wisconsin: BLS from the American Heart Association and RN license from the Compact State or Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
