Overview

Reed Education are recruiting for a Deputy Nursery Manager to support a well-established, independent nursery in Huddersfield. Operating since 1986, the nursery provides 62 places for children aged 3 months to 5 years, alongside an out-of-school and holiday club. The setting is based within a spacious four-floor Victorian building.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Room Leader or current Deputy looking to step into a more senior, visible leadership role.

\n

\n

The Role

\n

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth and effective running of the nursery.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Support with the day-to-day management of the nursery
  • \n
  • Take responsibility in the Manager’s absence
  • \n
  • Lead by example, maintaining high standards across all rooms
  • \n
  • Support staff development, including supervisions and training
  • \n
  • Assist with safeguarding, compliance, and Ofsted preparation
  • \n
  • Contribute to staffing, planning, and overall organisation
  • \n
\n

About You

\n

We are looking for a proactive and capable individual with strong Early Years experience.

\n
    \n
  • Solid understanding of the EYFS framework
  • \n
  • Experience supporting or leading a team within a nursery setting
  • \n
  • Confident decision-maker with the ability to use initiative
  • \n
  • Collaborative approach, with the confidence to challenge where needed
  • \n
  • Holds a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • \n
  • Interest in or willingness to support SENCO responsibilities
  • \n
\n

Salary & Benefits

  • £28,000 full-time (40 hours)
  • \n
  • Flexibility available (e.g. 32 hours pro rata ~ £22,500)
  • \n
