Parkwood, Maidstone Salary: £28,000 per year 30 hours per week (Monday–Friday) Shifts: 7:00am–1:00pm or 12:00pm–6:00pm (alternating monthly)

About the Role

\n

We are excited to be recruiting two Deputy Nursery Managers for a brand-new, beautifully designed nursery opening in Parkwood, Maidstone.

\n

This is a fantastic opportunity to join at the very beginning of an exciting new setting, helping to shape its growth and culture from the ground up. The nursery will initially care for around 10 children, with plans to expand over time.

\n

The setting has strong links with a local school and will be overseen by a Headteacher, offering an excellent support network and opportunities for professional development, while remaining on a separate site.

Working Pattern

  • 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • \n
  • Two shift patterns:\n
      \n
    • 7:00am – 1:00pm
    • \n
    • 12:00pm – 6:00pm
    • \n
  • \n
  • Shifts will alternate monthly
  • \n

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Support the day-to-day running of the nursery
  • \n
  • Lead and motivate team members to deliver high-quality care and education
  • \n
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare requirements are fully met
  • \n
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff
  • \n
  • Support the Nursery Manager and Headteacher in developing the provision as it grows
  • \n

Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare (essential)
  • \n
  • Previous experience as a:\n
      \n
    • Nursery Room Leader, or
    • \n
    • Deputy Nursery Manager, or
    • \n
    • Nursery Manager
    • \n
  • \n
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • \n
  • A passion for early years education and child development
  • \n
  • A proactive, positive attitude and ability to support a growing setting
  • \n
