Electrical Estimator

Required Experience and Skillset:

• 15+ years of electrical estimating and/or project management experience in industrial electrical construction.
• Strong, demonstrable experience estimating large-scale data center projects (2-3 years focusing on data center construction)
• Proficiency with Trimble Accubid or relevant estimating software.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of:
• • Medium voltage distribution systems
  • UPS and backup generation systems
  • Switchgear and power distribution
  • Mission-critical redundancy designs (N+1, 2N, etc.)
  • Phased construction in live/critical environments
• Experience developing detailed estimates for large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong cost analysis, constructability review, and estimating expertise.
• Excellent communication and client presentation skills.

Day-to-Day:

• Lead estimating efforts for large-scale data center electrical projects.
• Develop detailed estimates for:
• • Power distribution systems
  • Medium-voltage infrastructure
  • Substations
  • UPS systems
  • Generators
  • Switchgear
  • Low-voltage systems
• Utilize Accubid for takeoffs, pricing, and database management.
• Coordinate with internal teams to develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates.
• Oversee bid development and ensure complete mission-critical scope coverage.
• Prepare and present proposals to clients.
• Develop conceptual through detailed budgets for data center projects.
• Manage subcontractor and vendor pricing and procurement strategies.
• Mentor estimating staff and support estimating best practices.
• Maintain estimating databases, benchmarks, and unit pricing standards.
• Build relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and OEM partners.
• Evaluate risks, constructability, sequencing, and delivery strategies.

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator – Data Center Focus for a top construction and infrastructure client. This candidate will lead the estimating strategy for high-profile hyperscale and colocation data center projects, serving as a key contributor to major pursuits across mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in electrical infrastructure systems including medium-voltage distribution, substations, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and redundancy-driven designs. Using Accubid as a primary estimating tool, this individual will develop accurate conceptual and detailed estimates, collaborate with internal operations teams, manage vendor and subcontractor relationships, and present comprehensive cost solutions to clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned estimator to play a critical role in winning and delivering large-scale data center projects while helping drive growth in a rapidly expanding market sector.

Senior Electrical Estimator.

Compensation: $130,000 - $180,000.

Location: Cherry Hill, NJ

Schedule: Flexible M-F (7:00am - 4:00pm)
