We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and fast-paced organisation based in Ellesmere Port. We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Clerk to join the finance team on an immediate-start contract, supporting the business during a busy period.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Accounts Payable professional who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and can hit the ground running from day one.

The Role

You will take ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the full accounts payable function from invoice receipt through to payment
\n
• Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
\n
• Matching, batching and coding invoices
\n
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
\n
• Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payment runs
\n
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
\n
• Assisting with month-end accounts payable activities
\n
• Supporting the wider finance team as required during this busy period
\n

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has proven experience in a Senior Accounts Payable or similar role
\n
• Is confident managing the full end-to-end AP process independently
\n
• Has experience processing payment runs
\n
• Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
\n
• Has excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
\n
• Can start immediately or at very short notice
\n
• Is proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
\n
