Shift Operations Technician - Energy from WasteCirca £53,000 + bonus + overtime + benefitsBicester, OxfordshireSCINERGY Recruitment are looking for a Shift Operations Technician / Shift Technician / Shift Operator to join an EFW power station near Bicester, Oxfordshire.Working as part of the shift operations team, you will be responsible for starting, stopping and monitoring the plant through the Distributed Control System (DCS), ensuring it operates safely, efficiently and in line with its operational and environmental targets.Key responsibilitiesStart, stop and monitor boilers, steam turbines, pumps, water treatment plant and heat exchangers via the DCSCarry out routine plant inspections and make operational adjustments to maintain safe and efficient performancePerform basic first-line maintenance activities and report defects to the Shift Team LeaderSupport planned shutdowns, start-ups and maintenance activities, helping to minimise plant downtimeMonitor the site Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) and respond appropriately to changing plant conditionsMaintain accurate shift logs, operational records and handover informationEnsure all duties are carried out in accordance with site procedures and the highest standards of health, safety and environmental complianceSkills and experienceTo be considered for this position, you should have:Operations experience gained within a heavy process environment involving the generation of high-pressure steam, such as power generation, Energy from Waste, CHP, chemical processing or refiningMerchant Navy and Royal Navy Engineers with significant watchkeeping experience will also be consideredA relevant engineering qualification, such as an apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, ONC or HNCA good understanding of safe systems of work and health, safety and environmental proceduresStrong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skillsA flexible approach and willingness to work a 12-hour shift pattern covering days and nightsSalary and benefitsA salary + shift pay of circa £53,000Performance-related bonus up to 10%Private medicalCompany pension schemeOngoing training and development opportunitiesThe opportunity to build a long-term career with a leading operator in the Energy from Waste sectorFor further information or to apply please contact Steve or Callum at SCINERGY Recruitment on 02030 386 115 or email steve @scinergy.co.ukTPBN1_UKTJ
