We are in search of outstanding clinicians who desire a meaningful career within a supportive culture that promotes a fulfilling life outside of medicine. This approach aims to prevent burnout, extend your professional journey, and enhance care for our community through continuity.

Our distinctive model emphasizes your long-term career development by surrounding you with a dedicated team rather than relying on temporary staff. Our mission is to foster a welcoming environment filled with like-minded physicians who genuinely enjoy their work. We aim to tailor your practice to include the cardiology, leadership, or other skills you are most passionate about, ensuring that you find joy in your work, which ultimately benefits both you and our patients.

Our medical team consists of highly trained physicians from diverse backgrounds who have chosen to make this area their home. They find their careers rewarding and ever-evolving, practicing top-tier medicine supported by our esteemed Heart & Vascular Institute while enjoying a community that appreciates their significant contributions to patient care.

About the Position:

Our Heart & Vascular Institute is looking for a full-time interventional cardiologist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will hold a clinical academic appointment and provide interventional services at our UPMC Jameson facility. Collaborating with interventional colleagues in Pittsburgh, we offer 24/7 STEMI coverage. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic and interventional heart catheterizations, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), cardioversions, and managing temporary and permanent pacemakers, as well as intra-aortic balloon pumps and peripheral interventions in conjunction with vascular surgery.

Currently, our team at UPMC Jameson consists of four full-time cardiologists (two interventionalists and two non-invasive cardiologists), with plans to expand to six. Additionally, we have ten advanced practice providers (APPs) serving two suburban areas near Pittsburgh. Our part-time services include four electrophysiologists (including a pacemaker clinic), a heart failure specialist, three vascular surgeons, one thoracic surgeon, and one cardiothoracic surgeon. Our outpatient office in New Castle is located within UPMC Jameson, which also houses a full range of diagnostic services, including two catheterization labs. HVI Horizon-Greenville is situated within UPMC Horizon Greenville, and HVI Horizon-Shenango is located across from UPMC Horizon Shenango.

About Our Community:

Consider living in or near the metropolitan area of Pittsburgh (e.g., Cranberry Township) and commuting to work, or choose to reside in one of the beautiful suburban areas surrounding UPMC Jameson and UPMC Horizon. The hospitals are set in the picturesque rolling hills of Lawrence and Mercer counties, near the PA/OH border, surrounded by lakes and close to several cities and airports. Our region offers a blend of serene suburban and small-town living in safe, affordable, family-friendly neighborhoods, while still being conveniently located near Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Erie, and Youngstown via multiple interstates.

Our communities feature award-winning schools, affordable housing, and a wealth of recreational and cultural activities, all underpinned by a strong work ethic that has evolved from our history as a steel town into a modern family-friendly haven. Housing options range from typical rentals and ownership to unique, affordable neighborhoods, including charming college towns, larger suburban areas, and rural settings with ample land. Recreational and cultural offerings abound, including local and state parks, fitness centers, symphonies, hiking and biking trails, sports facilities, golfing, skiing, museums, live music venues, community and professional theater, and even skydiving! Known as the "Lakeland Area," our region boasts numerous waterways for fishing, sailing, and swimming, from expansive state parks to tranquil rivers accessible via kayak or canoe. Shopping options include one of the largest outlet malls in the country, along with various national chain stores and unique local boutiques. There truly is something for everyone in our region!

Both hospitals are integral parts of the renowned UPMC network, which has consistently been recognized on the U.S. News and World Report's Honor Roll of America's Best Hospitals for over a decade. Together, UPMC Horizon and UPMC Jameson offer nearly 200 beds across three facilities located in Greenville, the Shenango Valley, and New Castle, along with multiple outpatient and primary care sites throughout the seven-county region of northwestern Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio.
