Job Description
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a fellow in our newly established Global Women's Health Fellowship program. This two-year fellowship combines clinical practice, teaching, and research at our organization and Hospital Central de Maputo in Mozambique. Upon completion, the fellow will earn an advanced degree in public health, fully prepared to lead a global health initiative focused on enhancing women's health, clinical education, program development, and implementation.
The primary aim of this fellowship is to cultivate OBGYN professionals who are well-prepared and capable leaders in Global Women's Health on an international scale. Graduates will emerge as experts eligible for leadership roles in academic medicine, public health, international development, and governmental positions. Candidates must be open to relocating to Mozambique for a duration of one year.

Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an OBGYN residency in the United States.
- A strong commitment to promoting health equity for underserved and marginalized communities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.

Our organization is Long Island's leading academic medical center, encompassing the entire medical enterprise of the university and integrating all health-related initiatives, including education, research, and patient care. This includes the university hospital, children's hospital, and five health sciences schools, along with numerous community-based healthcare settings throughout Suffolk County.
With 624 beds, our university hospital serves as Suffolk County's sole tertiary care center and Regional Trauma Center. The children's hospital, featuring over 180 pediatric specialists across 30 specialties, provides the most advanced pediatric specialty care in the area. The Medical and Research Translation (MART) building houses outpatient services for the Cancer Center and dedicated floors for cancer research.
