Physician - Psychiatrist

The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, located in Fort Smith, AR, is currently in search of a full-time Physician-Psychiatrist. The ideal applicant should be Board Eligible or Certified in Psychiatry.

To qualify, candidates must hold an MD or DO from an accredited institution, have completed residency training that leads to board eligibility or certification, and possess an active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.

• Starting base salary range: $275,000 - $300,000

• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, with potential for nights, weekends, and on-call duties. Specific scheduling details will be discussed during the interview.

• Responsibilities include assessing, evaluating, and managing medication for veterans facing various mental health challenges, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, substance abuse, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis, and other related issues.

• Provide education to hospital staff regarding the psychiatric needs of patients, including handling procedures and expectations.

• Engage with the families of patients receiving psychiatric treatment.
