A Day in the Life of a Med Surg RNResponsibilities

• Staff in this role are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care activities in line with HHS standards to ensure efficient, effective, and high-quality patient care.
• The Registered Nurse (RN) must exhibit the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients in the assigned unit.
• This individual should understand the principles of growth and development throughout the lifespan, possess the ability to assess data reflecting the patient's condition, and interpret the necessary information to identify each patient's age-specific needs.
• The RN is tasked with planning patient care, which includes developing, modifying, and implementing care plans according to HHS standards to deliver efficient, effective, and quality care as outlined in the Patient Care policies and procedures.
• Compliance with the regulations established by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act is expected.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN)
• Current RN License in Oklahoma
• BLS certification must be acquired within 14 days of hire or transfer into the position and before providing direct patient care.
