Welder Fabricator

A County Durham manufacturer, supplying fabricated metal products to the construction industry, is looking for a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join their team.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Welder / Fabricator will construct a variety of metal structures through welding, fitting and assembly, working to design specifications and quality standards throughout. This Welder / Fabricator role suits someone with solid, current welding experience across multiple methods.

Key responsibilities

• Welding, fitting and assembling fabricated structures to specification
\n
• Interpreting engineering drawings and applying required standards
\n
• Agreeing and meeting production targets with the leadership team
\n
• Completing safety checks and documentation accurately
\n
• Carrying out welding and fabrication tasks using various equipment
\n
• Moving material around the factory as needed
\n
• Getting involved in process and working method improvements
\n
• Keeping the work area safe and organised in line with 5S
\n

What you'll bring

\n
• Level 3 Fabrication and Welding Engineering qualification as a minimum, coded certification preferred
\n
• At least three years' relevant industry experience in Mig, Tig and heat welding
\n
• Strong attention to detail and confidence with maths and technical drawings
\n
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
\n
• A flexible, can do approach to teamwork
\n

As a Welder / Fabricator, you should be able to weld to specification with minimal supervision, as extensive training is not available for this position.
