\n**Please note this position is a 12-month fixed-term contract**
\nWhat you'll be doing
\nAs the successful Environmental Permitting Manager you will work in a small friendly team within the Land and Natural Resources (L&NR) function supporting the business on a diverse range of projects to obtain permits and licences for land, air and water for our quarries, concrete, asphalt and block plants.
\nOn a day to day basis the Environmental Permitting Manager responsibilities will include:
\n- \n
- Provide technical advice on the permits and licences required for new and existing operations in collaboration with the Operational, Strategic Planning and Circularity teams \n
- Management and delivery of a wide variety of permits and licences applications \n
- Identifying changes to regulations and guidance that require new permits, or impact on our existing permits and advise the business on actions required to become complaint \n
- Providing expert advice to the business relating to technical issues relating to permit conditions, or associated environmental legislation \n
- Build and manage relationships with the regulators \n
What we are looking for:
\nIdeally the successful candidate for Environmental Permitting Manager will have:
\n- \n
- Good communication skills \n
- Be a self-starter \n
- Strong project management skills \n
- Strong collaboration skills \n
- A relevant degree in an environmental or science related field \n
Practical experience in:
\n- \n
- Managing permit applications and liaising with the Environment Agency and other regulators \n
- Knowledge of environmental legislation including the Environmental Permitting Regulations, guidance, practices and procedures \n
- Minerals, waste or water sector \n
