The Level 4 Trauma Center is licensed for 146 beds and currently operates with 101 staffed beds. Our 24/7 emergency department features 14 beds and served over 20,000 patients last year. The facility includes an 8-bed ICU, 5 NICU beds, and 15 obstetrics beds, with over 600 births and nearly 4,400 admissions recorded in the past year. We function as a community medical center located in West Des Moines, focusing on general medical-surgical care, obstetrics, orthopedics, and bariatrics.
