Position Overview and Qualifications

Registered Nurses play a vital role in delivering and coordinating patient care. They work closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to provide both physical and emotional support to patients and their families.

Key responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include, but are not limited to: conducting assessments and reassessments, creating personalized care plans, administering medications, maintaining accurate documentation, educating patients, ensuring proper equipment maintenance, and effectively communicating patient needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.

  • Provide respiratory care, manage ventilators, and monitor patients' conditions.

  • Act as the primary coordinator among various disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.

  • Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as necessary.

  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs in collaboration with your healthcare team.

Qualifications required for this position include:

  • Current RN licensure from the KY Board of Nursing or a compact state Board of Nursing.

  • Experience in an ICU setting is essential.

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • BLS certification is mandatory.

  • ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer from a non-ICU area.

  • One to two years of clinical nursing experience is preferred.
