Operating Room Technician in Trussville, AL

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

• Schedule:
  • 4x10-hour shifts per week
  • 6:15 am – 4:45 pm
  • Rotating days off based on departmental needs

Key qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years’ direct experience as a Surgical Technologist or ORT
• Previous travel assignment experience highly desired
• Ortho-specific surgical experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in assisting with orthopedic sports surgeries
• Active certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred (non-certified considered with strong experience)
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced surgical suites

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain operating rooms, equipment, and instruments for orthopedic and sports surgery cases
• Assist surgeons and nurses throughout all operative procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and safety standards
• Accurately handle surgical specimens and maintain vigilant infection control practices
• Provide exemplary patient-centered care before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Communicate clearly and effectively with surgeons, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support seamless workflow
• Adapt to the evolving scheduling needs and departmental demands
