HR and Payroll Officer

The HR and Payroll Officer will manage payroll processing and support HR operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures in the not-for-profit sector. This fixed-term contract role requires a detail-oriented individual to handle sensitive employee information with accuracy and confidentiality. Their Human Resources department plays a key role in maintaining efficient operations and supporting the academy goals. Description Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to legal and organisational requirements. Maintain and update employee records, including contracts, benefits, and leave balances. Support recruitment activities, from drafting job descriptions to onboarding new hires. Coordinate employee training and development programmes in line with organisational needs. Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures to staff and management. Assist with employee relations matters, including handling queries and supporting investigations. Prepare reports and documentation for audits and compliance reviews. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure payroll budgets align with forecasts.Profile A successful HR and Payroll Officer should have: Experience in payroll processing and HR administration within a professional setting. Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in using HR and payroll software. The ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Effective communication skills to liaise with employees and management.
