Registered Nurse School Setting - Wheaton, IL

This part-time contract position is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in school nursing, ready to make a difference as a 1:1 nurse for a preschool student who requires oxygen support. Working every Friday morning, you'll play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing classroom experience for a 4-year-old student and offer invaluable reassurance to their family.

What you bring:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Previous experience working as an RN in a school setting is required
• Critical care experience is preferred and highly valued
• Strong assessment and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with a calm, compassionate demeanor
• Must submit credentials and a current resume with your application
• Only RNs will be considered (no LPNs)

Key responsibilities:

• Provide vigilant, one-on-one nursing care to a preschool student on oxygen throughout the school morning
• Monitor and manage the student's medical needs, including oxygen levels, equipment, and any emergent situations
• Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school health staff to ensure seamless care and safety
• Accurately document care provided and any relevant observations or interventions
• Support the student's inclusion and participation in school activities while safeguarding health needs
