Registered Nurse School Setting - Newark, NJ

This is a full-time, contract-based opportunity, running from September 4th through June 25th, with working hours from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM. You’ll oversee school nursing services across entire school buildings near Newark, NJ, ensuring a safe, healthy environment and effective care for diverse student health needs.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• New Jersey School Nurse RN license (required)
• Prior experience in school-based nursing (mandatory)
• Confidence managing both elementary and middle school caseloads
• Expertise in servicing varied student health needs
• Ability to oversee all nursing operations within assigned school facilities
• Comfortable and adaptable in a district environment
• Reliable transportation for daily commute; candidates must live within a reasonable distance
• Willingness to complete onboarding, including TB test, physical, and fingerprints for agency and district
• Only RN candidates considered (no LPNs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering direct nursing care to students and staff
• Administering medications and supporting chronic condition management
• Providing urgent and emergency medical care as needed
• Coordinating care plans with families, staff, and outside providers
• Conducting health screenings and managing immunization records
• Promoting best practices in hygiene, disease prevention, and overall well-being across the school
• Maintaining detailed, compliant medical documentation
