Registered Nurse School Setting - Aurora, IL

Take on a vital role supporting a young preschool student as a part-time Registered Nurse, making a difference in their educational journey and health. This engaging contract position is conveniently scheduled Tuesday through Friday, 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, with a school year assignment from August 18, 2026, through May 28, 2027. The day starts by meeting your student at their home in the Wheaton, IL area, accompanying them to school by bus, ensuring their well-being throughout the afternoon, and riding back home together.

Ideal candidates are experienced, compassionate RN professionals who thrive in a one-on-one environment, bringing expertise in pediatric complex care.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Demonstrated experience with G-tube, tracheostomy, and ventilator-dependent care
• Prior critical care nursing background strongly preferred
• Experience with pediatric or school-based nursing (especially with medically fragile children) is highly desirable
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Ability to provide licensing and credentials upon request
• LPNs are not eligible for this position

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one nursing support for a preschool-aged student throughout the school day
• Monitor and manage G-tube, trach, and ventilator needs in accordance with medical and school guidelines
• Offer compassionate, attentive care while supporting the student’s educational participation
• Ensure seamless transitions from home to bus to classroom and back, prioritizing safety at all times
• Document interventions and communicate proactively with family, school staff, and medical providers
