School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Burnsville, Minnesota

Make a meaningful impact supporting student health and wellness throughout an entire district! This contract opportunity places you in a pivotal role serving as a Licensed School Nurse across five different schools for the academic year beginning August 17, 2026 through May 28, 2027. You’ll have the chance to use your RN and Public Health expertise in a dynamic, itinerant position, providing comprehensive care and collaborating with school staff to advance student well-being.

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Public Health License
• School Nurse License (Board of Teaching issued)
• Current CPR and BLS certifications
• Previous school nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience providing care to diverse student populations
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple school locations
• Effective communicator with staff, students, and families
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care, first aid, medication administration, and health assessments for students at five district schools
• Collaborate with educational teams, participating in health-related planning and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Oversee health protocols, coordinate with community health resources, and ensure regulatory compliance
• Educate staff, students, and families on preventative health topics
• Manage and document student health records following privacy guidelines
• Respond to emergencies with confidence and professionalism
