Step into a meaningful part-time opportunity supporting early learners as an Occupational Therapist at a welcoming early childhood education setting near North Chicago. This contract position spans the 2026-2027 school year at either .4 or .6 FTE (2 or 3 days per week), offering the ideal blend of professional challenge and flexibility.

As part of a talented multidisciplinary team, your expertise will enhance the learning, participation, and well-being of preschool-aged children in the Winnetka Preschool Consortium. You’ll collaborate closely with educators, families, and other therapists, using creative interventions to meet each child’s unique needs in early childhood and special education environments.

Desired qualifications:

  • Current certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • Illinois state licensure (or eligibility)
  • Experience in early childhood and special education strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel between sites within the preschool consortium
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning experiences

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assess and identify students’ motor and sensory needs impacting academic achievement and participation
  • Develop and deliver individualized therapy plans in collaboration with educators and families
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services within classroom and pull-out settings
  • Document progress and maintain communication with all stakeholders
  • Contribute to IEP development meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Adapt materials and modify activities to enhance student access and success
